Retired Mass State Trooper And An Air Force Veteran Fatally Shot In Winthrop

The two victims fatally shot in Winthrop on Saturday, have been identified as David Green and Ramona Cooper.

Cooper was shot three times in the back and Green was shot four times in the head and three times in the torso.

David Green is a retired Massachusetts State Trooper and Ramona Cooper is a U.S. Air Force veteran.

The suspect who was fatally shot by a police officer with the Winthrop Police Department, has been identified as Nathan Allen.

A preliminary investigation has revealed that Allen had made anti-Semitic and racist statements against Black people. Both victims are Black and were the only people shot by Allen.

Green, served the Commonwealth for 36 years as a Massachusetts State Trooper from 1980 until 2016.
