State Police Investigating Fatal Crash On Route 91 in Holyoke

Saturday afternoon, State Police responded to a motor vehicle accident caused by a wrong-way driver on Route 91 in Holyoke.
State Police say that a “2005 Mercedes-Benz operated by a 69-year-old Holyoke woman was traveling southbound on the northbound side of Route 91 in Holyoke. The Mercedes struck a 2013 Honda Civic head-on in the left lane of route 91 northbound.”
The woman was pronounced deceased at the scene and the driver of the Honda, a 25-year-old Springfield man, was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.
