Lancaster – Three people were taken to hospitals following a crash involving a commercial dump truck and two SUVs on North Main Street late Wednesday morning.
Lancaster Fire-EMS and Lancaster Police responded to the area of 1539 North Main Street at approximately 11:51 a.m.
One patient was transported to UMASS University Campus in Worcester with serious injuries believed to be non-life-threatening. Two other patients were taken to UMASS Leominster Campus. Further information about their conditions was not provided.
Early reports indicated multiple injuries and a possible fatality, but the information provided does not confirm a death.
Route 117 remained closed for several hours as emergency crews assisted those involved and the roadway was cleared. The road has since reopened.
Lancaster Police and Massachusetts State Police are investigating the crash. No cause has been announced.
