Boston – A 35-year-old Duxbury man has been sentenced to a federal prison for distributing child sexual abuse material through a messaging app.

Daniel Debreczeni received a 63-month prison sentence from U.S. District Court Chief Judge Denise J. Casper in Boston. His sentence also includes five years of supervised release.

Debreczeni pleaded guilty in April following his arrest and indictment-related charges in Aug. 2025.

According to federal authorities, Debreczeni shared three videos depicting the sexual abuse of young children in a private Kik Messenger chat room between Nov. 29 and Dec. 12, 2023. Investigators later found five images and 19 videos containing child sexual abuse material on his Kik account during a search of his residence.

The FBI investigated the case with assistance from Massachusetts State Police and police departments in Duxbury and Quincy. Assistant U.S. Attorney David Tobin prosecuted the case.

The prosecution was part of Project Safe Childhood, a Department of Justice initiative that brings together federal, state and local agencies to investigate child exploitation, prosecute offenders and identify victims.
