Four additional defendants pleaded guilty in a firearms trafficking conspiracy that moved weapons from New Hampshire into Canada, prosecutors announced Friday. Conrad Oakes, 25; Tayson Terrance, 24; Ranonkwatseronhawi Gibson, 22; and Montana Cook, 27, admitted straw purchasing and trafficking conspiracies.
Investigators traced the case to a gun recovered during a Montreal kidnapping investigation. They identified approximately 51 firearms potentially moved through Vermont and the Akwesasne reservation, including at least 10 recovered at Canadian crime scenes.
Authorities said the network used the border community and, in one instance, personal watercraft to move contraband to Cornwall Island. ATF and Homeland Security Investigations led the investigation with Canadian, tribal and local partners.
The four defendants are scheduled for sentencing in February 2027. Their pleas add to earlier convictions arising from the investigation.
