BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Eight adults were displaced after a second-alarm fire damaged a residential building on Sheridan Street Saturday night, according to city officials.
The Bridgeport Fire Department responded to a blaze on Sheridan Street around 9 p.m. on Saturday, according to reports from city officials.
Firefighters arrived and began working to contain the fire as it spread through the building. As conditions intensified, additional resources were called to the scene.
The fire was upgraded to a second-alarm blaze shortly after 9:30 p.m. Flames had reportedly spread throughout all of the building’s floors.
City officials said eight adults were forced from their homes as a result of the fire.
A total of eight adults are displaced following the fire that occurred somewhere along the 260 block of Sheridan Street. Those eight residents are currently being assisted by the American Red Cross.
Despite the extent of the fire, officials reported that no injuries occurred.
Fortunately, no one was injured.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The city Fire Marshal’s Office is actively investigating the cause of the fire.
