The New York Knicks comfortably defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers by a score of 130-93 in Game 7 of their Eastern Conference Finals series. The Knicks have now won 11 straight games in the playoffs.
Karl-Anthony Towns was the leading scorer for the Knicks with 19 points, also grabbing 14 rebounds, followed by OG Anunoby with 17. Mikal Bridges and Jalen Brunson scored 15 each.
The balanced scoring effort from the Knicks led to them going on a 20-0 run in the second quarter. They also outscored the Cavs 32-5 in second chance points.
In their 11 game win streak, the Knicks average margin of victory is an impressive 23.7 points. Not only are they winning, but they are winning in dominant fashion.
Knicks head coach Mike Brown has coached his team to the NBA Finals in just his first year with the team.
As for the Cavs, they shot 0-9, made no three pointers, and committed four turnovers during the span of the Knicks 20-0 run. James Harden once again shot terribly, going 2-8 from the field and 0-6 from three. Harden was not able to find any success shooting the ball in the entire series.
Donovan Mitchell led the Cavs in scoring with 31.
The Cavs were outrebounded by 27 and were also outscored 33-9 in fastbreak points.
The Knicks will face off against the winner of the Oklahoma City Thunder/San Antonio Spurs series, both of which will prove to be tough challenges. The Knicks will look to utilize all of their momentum from their win streak to be competitive with the champions from the Western conference.
