An incident involving Massachusetts State Police unfolded earlier as troopers attempted to stop a red sedan traveling westbound on the Mass Pike.
According to radio traffic, Troop H initiated a stop on the vehicle due to it operating without license plates. The driver failed to pull over and continued westbound through Grafton, Millbury then into Auburn, eventually entering Troop C territory.
The situation remained controlled, with no reports of high speeds, but units continued to follow as the driver refused to stop. Along the route of the pursuit, other troopers were set up to deploy spike strips (Stop Sticks) which successfully deflated the rear driver side tire down to the rim.
Positioned near Route 146, I monitored the radio traffic as the vehicle approached the area that I was on Stand-by in and responded as the situation developed—what happened next is captured on video.
At this time, it’s unclear what led to the driver’s actions or how the incident concluded at the barracks.
