The Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Boston Celtics by a score of 102-92 at the TD Garden in Boston. Not only did the Wolves get back in the win column after losing 18 straight games, but this was also their first win in Boston since 2005.

Jaylen Brown led the Celtics in scoring with 29 points along with Jayson Tatum recording a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds in his eighth game back since his Achilles injury. Derrick White added 15 points. None of the Celtics leading scorers shot particularly well from the field; Brown 9-26, Tatum 6-16, and White 6-15. As a team, the Celtics shot 36 percent overall and only 27 percent from three point range. The Celtics have now lost the season series against the Timberwolves two games to zero.

As for the Timberwolves, they were without Anthony Edwards as he is sidelined with right knee inflammation. Bones Hyland stepped up in his place, scoring 23 points on a solid 8-14 shooting. Jaden McDaniels added 19 points and Ayo Dosunmu scored 17.

The Timberwolves move up to number five in the West, one game back from the Denver Nuggets. The Celtics remain in the two spot in the East.

On Wednesday, Minnesota will have a tall task to play against next in the Oklahoma City Thunder, who have the best record in the NBA. The Celtics will be at home again hosting the Houston Rockets.
