A serious crash was under investigation after a vehicle went off an overpass on Route 2 in Leominster late last night.
According to Massachusetts State Police, troopers responded to the eastbound side of Route 2 after a vehicle fell from the roadway and landed below on Nashua Street.
The crash prompted a large emergency response, including state police, Leominster police, and fire crews.
Per radio traffic from Leominster Fire, three ambulances were requested to the scene, indicating the potential for multiple injuries.
Initial reports suggested the vehicle left the highway at a high rate of speed, going airborne before coming to rest below the overpass.
Officials have not yet confirmed how many people were inside the vehicle or the extent of their injuries.
The incident remained under investigation as crews worked to secure the scene and determine what led up to the crash.
