BATON ROUGE, LA – Northeastern entered their game against the defending champion and second-ranked LSU with a 2-6 record. That didn’t matter on Monday night, however.
The Huskies scored four runs in the top of the second and added another in the third, giving them a 5-0 lead and putting them in the driver’s seat for a huge win.
With a 5-0 lead in the top of the third inning, a three-run home run for the Huskies gave them an 8-0 lead over the defending champs. They would add two more in the inning, increasing their lead to 10-0.
The Tigers pulled close, but in the end, Northeastern came away with one of the biggest wins in program history, winning by a final score of 13-10.
