Amazon is bringing the pharmacy straight to the doctor’s office. Amazon Pharmacy has unveiled in-office kiosks that let patients grab prescriptions within minutes of a medical appointment, starting with One Medical offices in Los Angeles. Beginning December 2025, kiosks will expand to downtown LA, West LA, Beverly Hills, Long Beach, and West Hollywood.
The move addresses a persistent problem: too many prescriptions never get filled because patients have to make an extra trip. “By bringing the pharmacy directly to the point of care, we’re removing a critical barrier and helping patients start their treatment when it matters most—right away,” said Hannah McClellan, Amazon Pharmacy VP of operations.
Patients can send prescriptions to the kiosk via the Amazon app, then pick up their medication within minutes. For those needing guidance, licensed pharmacists are available for secure video or phone consultations. Dr. Andrew Diamond, One Medical’s chief medical officer, called the service a game-changer, especially for urgent treatments. “The ability to know a patient is leaving our office with their medication in hand—especially for conditions requiring immediate treatment like infections—can make a meaningful difference in their care journey.”
Amazon Pharmacy’s kiosk rollout is part of a broader effort to make healthcare faster and more convenient, cutting out the extra steps that often delay treatment. Patients can now leave the doctor’s office with their prescriptions in hand, skipping the pharmacy line and starting their care immediately.
