For the second consecutive season, the Hell’s Kitchen competition is taking place at Foxwoods Casino Resort in Mashantucket, CT. This season has been titled “Battle of the States” with the top 20 chefs, each from a different state, competing to become the next head chef at Foxwoods.
Three of those chefs come to us from the New England area. Executive chef Antonio is representing the state of New Hampshire. Cara Marie, another Executive Chef, is representing Rhode Island, and Sous Chef Jayden is representing Massachusetts.
In the season premiere, the contestants had to create their signature dishes. Antonio presented . Jayden, going up against Cara Marie, presented an “angry shrimp” dish. The dish scored a four out of a possible five points.
Cara Marie surprised everyone by presenting a crispy-friend watermelon tuna – yes, watermelon. She revealed that she was a vegan, which led her to create a fruit-based dish. Her dish scored a two out of five.
Antonio presented a spiced pork chop to chef Gordon Ramsay, scoring a four out of five.
The three New England chefs, along with the other 17, will cook their first dinner service in the next episode of Hell’s Kitchen: Battle of the States. The episode will air Thursday at 8/7c on FOX. It will also be available on Friday on Hulu.
