Florida State is rolling into Charlottesville Friday night with a full tank of gas and no intention of slowing down. The eighth-ranked Seminoles have crushed everything in their path, torching defenses for a national-best 58 points a game while racking up nearly 630 yards a night.
They already smacked Alabama in the opener, then dismantled East Texas A&M and Kent State like warm-up acts. This is not just a team winning games, it’s a machine piling up body bags.
Virginia isn’t some pushover. The Cavaliers are 3-1, riding back-to-back wins over William & Mary and Stanford, and the offense has some bite. They lit up Stanford for 384 passing yards and come in ranked eighth nationally in both total offense and rushing yards. They can move the ball, they can score, and Scott Stadium will be alive Friday night.
Here’s the problem for UVA: they haven’t seen anything close to Florida State’s speed, depth, or versatility. FSU can gash you on the ground with a punishing run game or hit you over the top with explosive plays. The Noles don’t just beat you, they bury you under an avalanche of points. Virginia’s defense has shown cracks and if those same mistakes pop up here, this game could spiral in a hurry.
The matchup smells like danger for the Cavaliers. They’ll fight, they’ll land a couple shots, but over four quarters Florida State’s firepower is too much.
Prediction: Florida State 34, Virginia 28. Seminoles stay perfect.
