Worcester man arrested early Monday after police found a loaded handgun and open alcohol in his car. Officers stopped a vehicle at 2:28 AM at Hollis and Gardner Streets for lacking a valid inspection sticker. While speaking with the occupants, officers noticed an open container of alcohol.
The passenger, who initially gave a false name, was identified as 24-year-old Alex Sanchez. During a search, officers found a loaded gun in his waistband and confirmed he did not have a license to carry. The Crime Scene Unit seized the firearm.
Sanchez faces multiple charges, including possession of a firearm and ammunition without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, and possession of a large-capacity firearm and feeding device. The driver received citations for the open container and operating an uninspected vehicle.
