Two people were caught in the crossfire Tuesday afternoon on Manhattan’s Lower East Side, including a 63-year-old woman just walking by. Police said the shooting went down around 2:30 p.m. near East Broadway and Clinton Street.

The woman was struck in the foot and rushed to a nearby hospital, where officials said she’s expected to survive. A 21-year-old man was also hit, taking a bullet to the right leg. Law enforcement sources said he was likely the intended target, though he has been described as “highly uncooperative” with investigators.

Two suspects fled the scene on foot, one wearing a tan hoodie and the other in green, police sources said. Authorities are now hunting for the pair and investigating the motive behind the brazen daylight attack.
