The Titans walk into SoFi Stadium looking for answers, while the Rams already look like they’ve got them. In a 14–9 grinder over Houston last week, Matthew Stafford and Puka Nacua reminded everyone why they’re one of the league’s most dangerous duos. Nacua torched the Texans with 10 catches for 130 yards, and the chemistry only seems stronger heading into Year 2. For all the noise about Los Angeles being in transition, their air game is still lethal.
Tennessee, meanwhile, feels like a team trying to duct-tape an offense together. Rookie QB Cam Ward was rattled in his debut, and it showed — drops, flags, and blown protections turned drives into wasted opportunities. Losing right tackle JC Latham to injury only makes a bad offensive line situation worse. Now Ward faces Jared Verse, the reigning Defensive Rookie of the Year, and a Rams front that bullied Houston all afternoon. If that protection doesn’t improve, this could get ugly fast.
The Titans’ hope lies in their defense. They forced multiple turnovers against Denver in Week 1 and looked every bit like a Mike Vrabel unit — disciplined, physical, opportunistic. The matchup is clear: Tennessee’s front against an L.A. offensive line that might be patching holes, with both guards Steve Avila and Kevin Dotson banged up. If the Titans can get Stafford off his rhythm, they have a chance to muddy this game into the kind of rock fight they like.
But there’s only so much a defense can do when its offense can’t hold serve. The Rams are balanced, creative, and comfortable playing in close games. Tennessee is still searching for stability with a rookie under center and too many mistakes to mask.
Prediction: Rams 24, Titans 13. Stafford and Nacua stay hot, Verse wrecks the pocket, and Cam Ward takes another round of rookie lumps.
