Governor Ned Lamont is encouraging Connecticut residents to nominate distinguished veterans for induction into the Connecticut Veterans Hall of Fame, an honor recognizing veterans who continue to make significant contributions to their communities after military service.
Applications for the Hall of Fame’s 2025 class are now being accepted and must be submitted to the Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs by September 15. Inductees will be formally recognized at a ceremony later this year.
“The Connecticut Veterans Hall of Fame honors veterans from our state who have continued giving back to their communities even after leaving military service, and we want to honor and recognize them for their leadership, generosity, and contributions to Connecticut,” Governor Lamont said.
Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz added that veterans’ commitment often continues long after their service, noting their roles in mentoring, leadership, and community building. Connecticut Veterans Affairs Commissioner Ron Welch, a retired U.S. Army brigadier general, said this year’s nominees will again highlight extraordinary dedication to service and community.
Established in 2005, the Connecticut Veterans Hall of Fame has inducted 215 honorees to date, including five Congressional Medal of Honor recipients. Nominees must have been born in Connecticut or lived in the state for at least five years, received an honorable discharge, and demonstrated substantial community service after military duty.
