The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR), the City of Boston, L.L.Bean, and the Boston Red Sox announced that the 11th annual “Out of the Park” event will be held on Saturday, August 23, at the DCR Hatch Memorial Shell on the Charles River Esplanade.

“Out of the Park” is a free, family-friendly event designed to bring the Fenway Park experience directly into the community. The event will feature a live viewing of the 1:05 p.m. Red Sox-Yankees game at Yankee Stadium on a large 16-by-30-foot video screen provided by Xfinity. NESN will broadcast the game and host their pregame show live from the Hatch Memorial Shell, weather permitting, beginning at noon.

The festivities will start at 11:30 a.m. with the Red Sox Mobile Showcase, offering interactive attractions such as a batting cage, pitching accuracy games, and more for families to enjoy. Attendees can also expect yard games, face painting, and other signature elements reminiscent of the atmosphere found in and around Fenway Park during home games. Red Sox mascots Wally the Green Monster and his sister Tessie, along with a live DJ, will provide entertainment throughout the day.

Free food will be available, courtesy of the Red Sox’s partners, adding to the festive atmosphere.

The “Out of the Park” event was created in 2014 as part of a community-building initiative between the City of Boston and the Red Sox. Supported by Boston Parks & Recreation, the free event aims to connect baseball with the next generation of fans.
