Worcester — A 61-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a residential break-in on Ericcson Street that occurred Saturday morning, according to the Worcester Police Department.

Officers responded to the area around 9 a.m. on July 19 after receiving a report of a break-in in progress. A witness observed a man entering a vacant residence via a home security camera and provided dispatch with a description of the suspect.

Upon arrival, officers were informed that a loud crash had been heard moments earlier. At the scene, police discovered a shattered glass patio door.

A short time later, officers located a man in the area who matched the description from the security footage. He was identified as Thomas Marnalse, 61, of Ruthven Avenue.

Police said they developed probable cause that Marnalse had unlawfully entered the residence and taken items. He was placed under arrest and charged with Breaking and Entering in the Daytime to Commit a Felony and Larceny from a Building.

No injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.
