WORCESTER — A 24-year-old man is facing drug trafficking charges after Worcester Police Gang Unit officers executed a search warrant at a Chilmark Street apartment on Wednesday evening.

On July 16, 2025, at approximately 5:35 p.m., officers were conducting surveillance on the target of the warrant, identified as Onix Aviles. Police observed Aviles exit the apartment and enter a white SUV. Officers then detained him and proceeded to search the apartment.

Inside the residence, officers discovered more than 1,000 grams of what appeared to be crack cocaine and powder cocaine, as well as materials commonly used for drug packaging.

Aviles was arrested at the scene and is charged with trafficking in a Class B substance over 200 grams. The investigation remains ongoing.
