On Sunday morning, the Boston Red Sox made a roster move, announcing the recall of right-handed pitcher Zack Kelly from their Triple-A affiliate, Worcester Red Sox. In a corresponding move, the team optioned fellow right-hander Luis Guerrero to Worcester following a challenging doubleheader against the Baltimore Orioles that took place on Saturday.

During the second game of the doubleheader, Guerrero had a tough outing, pitching 1.1 innings and throwing a total of 41 pitches, of which only 18 were strikes. He allowed one run on two hits and issued three walks, while managing to strike out one batter. This performance marked his fourth appearance with the Red Sox this season, where he has allowed just one run across 5.1 innings of work, striking out four batters in the process. In 13 games with Worcester this season, Guerrero has recorded a 4.91 ERA, allowing 10 earned runs over 18.1 innings pitched.

On the other hand, Zack Kelly has seen action in seven games for Boston this season, but has struggled somewhat, posting a 9.00 ERA with 10 earned runs allowed over 10.0 innings, along with 11 strikeouts. His stint with Worcester has been similarly challenging, as he holds a 9.28 ERA from 11 earned runs over 10.2 innings pitched across nine games, including one start, while notching 15 strikeouts.
