Ahead of their doubleheader on Friday against the Durham Bulls, the Worcester Red Sox celebrated a significant milestone by welcoming the 2 millionth fan in club history. This noteworthy achievement comes after just four seasons and two months into the 2025 season since the WooSox began their journey in Worcester, an impressive feat for a Triple-A affiliate.

Polar Park, the team’s vibrant home, officially opened its doors on May 11, 2021, during a condensed Covid-affected season that posed challenges for sports teams everywhere. Since its inception, Polar Park has quickly become a beloved venue for baseball fans in Central Massachusetts.

During this celebration, the WooSox honored Steve Cantalupo and his sons, 10-year-old Robbie and 7-year-old Tommy, alongside their friend, 9-year-old Landyn Marshal-Lucas. The families made a 1.5-hour trek from Wareham, MA, near Cape Cod, showcasing their passion for the game. All three boys participate in Wareham Little League, reflecting the deep-rooted love for baseball in their community.

The lucky WooSox fans were pleasantly surprised with an impressive basket filled with gifts, including exclusive WooSox merchandise, replica jerseys of standout player Kristian Campbell, a baseball expertly autographed by Niko Kavadas, and a collectible bobblehead of top Red Sox prospect Roman Anthony, also signed by the player. They also received a $25 gift card to the Mercantile, a popular local dining establishment, and a $100 gift card to the WooSox Team Store, allowing them to choose from a variety of team gear. To enhance their experience, WooSox staff escorted them to a private suite to enjoy the doubleheader in comfort and style.

In a testament to their dedicated fan base, the WooSox achieved an impressive milestone in 2024, becoming the only club among all 120 in Minor League Baseball to sell over 500,000 tickets for three consecutive years.
