On September 11, 2024, at about 10:33 AM, Boston Police arrested Gregori Thomas Romero, a Dominican national illegally present in the United States.
Romero was charged with assault to rape, assault & battery with a dangerous weapon, assault on a family or household member, and strangulation suffocation.
On July 9, 2023, Romero was apprehended by the U.S. Border Patrol after illegally entering the United States near San Luis, Arizona. USBP issued Romero a notice to appear before a Justice Department immigration judge
Following his arrest by Boston Police, ICE Boston attempted to lodge a detainer against Romero; however, he had already been released from custody.
On February 1, 2025, Romero was arrested by ICE in Lawrence, Massachusetts, and remains in ICE custody.
