A man was shot and killed in Philadelphia’s Roxborough neighborhood late Tuesday evening.
According to the Philadelphia Police Department, on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 9:22 p.m., officers responded to the 7000 block of Ridge Avenue after reports of a shooting.
Man in his 30s was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his body lying by the rear of an apartment complex. He was transported to the hospital by police, where he was pronounced dead.
Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said. “The scene where we found the victim laying consists of over 30 spent shell casings. Clearly, there are what appear to be semi-automatic handgun spent shell casings and also rifle round spent shell casings. So clearly, two separate caliber, it appears that there was a handgun that was fired multiple times and a rifle that was fired multiple times. Just a few feet away from where the victim was laying, we did find a semi-automatic handgun.”
No arrests have been made as this is an ongoing investigation.
