On Saturday, the New York Liberty announced the re-signing of Breanna Stewart, a three-time WNBA Champion and three-time Olympic gold medalist.
Recognized as a two-time WNBA MVP and two-time WNBA Finals MVP, Stewart has etched her name in basketball history as a six-time All-WNBA First Team selection, six-time WNBA All-Star, and six-time All-Defensive Team honoree. Additionally, she is celebrated as a W25 honoree and holds the remarkable title of the fastest scorer to reach 5,000 points in league history.
During her two remarkable seasons with the Liberty, Stewart has left an indelible mark on the franchise, averaging a stunning 21.8 points and 8.9 rebounds per game across 78 regular season contests—both franchise records. Her impressive stats also include 3.7 assists, 1.6 steals, and 1.4 blocks per game, showcasing her all-around prowess on the court.
Looking ahead, New York’s highly anticipated 2025 regular season is set to kick off at home on Saturday, May 17, where they will face off against the formidable Las Vegas Aces at the iconic Barclays Center.
