On January 30, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement removed Leroy Neville White, 30, a Jamaican fugitive from the United States.

Since December 31, 2018, White has been wanted by Jamaican authorities for shooting with intent.

White illegally entered the U.S. on July 11, 2022, and he was arrested. After appearing before a Department of Justice immigration judge, White was released on an order of recognizance. Less than a year later on April 12, 2023 an immigration judge with the DOJ’s Executive Office for Immigration Review in Atlanta, Georgia ordered White removed from the United States.

White eventually relocated to Connecticut, and New Haven Police Department in Connecticut arrested White on December 26, 2023, for threatening first degree with hazard to terrorize. Following his arrest ICE lodged an immigration detainer against White on December 27, 2023, with New Haven Correctional Center. In April 2024, White was convicted of threatening first degree with hazard to terrorize, a class-D felony offense in Connecticut Superior Court in New Haven.

White was sentenced to five years’ incarceration – suspended after 1 year and 3 years’ probation. After he was released, the Connecticut Department of Corrections honored the ICE detainer on December 26, 2024, and officers from ICE arrested White at the Hartford Correctional Center.
