Saturday at Madison Square Garden in New York City, St. John’s University secured a hard-fought victory over Creighton, triumphing with a score of 79-73. The game showcased a mixture of intense competition and standout performances.
For Creighton, guard Steven Ashworth delivered a stellar performance, recording 23 points and orchestrating the offense with 11 assists, effectively directing his team’s plays.
Jamiya Neal also made a significant impact, contributing 19 points along with seven rebounds and four assists, showcasing his versatility on the court.
Ryan Kalkbrenner faced a setback when he suffered an injury that sidelined him for over five minutes in the second half. However, he returned to the game, finishing with 12 points and nine rebounds.
Jasen Green added depth to the scoreline with 10 points.
On the other side, St. John’s Zuby Ejifor put 18 points on the board and grabbed nine rebounds, proving crucial in the team’s interior defense.
RJ Luis Jr. had an impressive all-around game, notching a double-double with 23 points and 14 rebounds, demonstrating his ability to dominate in both scoring and rebounding.
Kadary Richmond also contributed significantly to the winning effort, finishing with 19 points and 10 rebounds, showcasing the balanced attack and strong teamwork that defines St. John’s success.
