On Wednesday, January 22, in Boston, ICE arrested Jean Yves Yves Ovilme, a noncitizen of the U.S. who is a Haitian national.

ICE said Ovilme was arraigned in West Roxbury District Court in Boston on November 20, 2024, for the charges of indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or older as well as assault and battery.

An immigration detainer, ICE said was issued against Ovilme with the court, but ICE said, “The state of Massachusetts ignored the immigration detainer and released Ovilme on Jan. 3.”

Ovilme is in ERO custody. ICE said, “Ovilme legally entered the United States Nov. 10, 2023, at Fort Lauderdale, Florida, but he later violated the terms of his lawful admission.”
