A tragic incident unfolded in Bridgeport on Monday evening when a house fire erupted, prompting a swift response from city officials. The alarm was raised shortly before 5 p.m., reporting a significant structure fire on Connecticut Avenue.

Firefighters arrived at the scene and managed to transport three individuals to the hospital for evaluation, although details regarding the severity of their injuries remain unclear at this time. 

One person lost their life in the blaze. Authorities have not yet disclosed their identity to the public.

The American Red Cross stepped in to provide assistance, relocating four children and four adults displaced by the disaster. Meanwhile, the Bridgeport Fire Marshal’s Office is collaborating with investigators from Connecticut State Police specializing in fire and explosion incidents to uncover the cause of the fire.
