At the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas, the Providence Friars faced a tough challenge in the Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament, suffering their third consecutive loss. On Friday, they battled against the Indiana Hoosiers but fell short with a final score of 73-89. The Friars struggled to find their rhythm offensively, finishing the game shooting 25 for 64 from the field, which translates to 39.1%. Their three-point shooting was also below average, hitting only 10 of 30 attempts for 33.3%. Additionally, Providence’s free throw performance was less than stellar, as they converted 13 of 21 attempts, resulting in a success rate of 61.9%.
Meanwhile, at the Silvio O. Conte Forum in Boston, the Boston College Eagles hosted the Dartmouth Big Green in a closely contested match that ultimately ended in a narrow defeat for the Eagles. The final score was 88-83 in favor of Dartmouth. The Big Green had an impressive start to the game, sinking seven three-pointers within the first ten minutes. Cade Haskins, Jayden Williams, and Ryan Cornish led the charge for Dartmouth, each scoring 18 points. On the Boston College side, Joshua Beadle shone brightly, leading all scorers with a career-high 19 points. Elijah Strong contributed significantly with 18 points, while Chad Venning added 17 points to keep the game close.
In another matchup, the Maine Black Bears traveled to the historic Palestra in Philadelphia, where they faced Elon University. The Black Bears emerged victorious with a solid 69-56 win. Quion Burns was instrumental in securing the win, leading the team with 16 points. Kellen Tynes also made a notable contribution, scoring 14 points, while Killian Gribben added 13 points to help Maine clinch the victory and improve their momentum in the early season.
