On Saturday, November 9, 2024, New Hampshire State Police observed a motor on Interstate 93 traveling at a high rate of speed, and when Trooper attempted to stop the vehicle a pursuit was initiated because the driver didn’t stop.
That driver has been identified as Jack Dobbins, 19, of Waterville Valley, New Hampshire, and New Hampshire State Police say he was going 104 mph on I93. When Trooper Nathaniel Perkins with the New Hampshire State Police attempted to stop Dobbins, NHSP said he didn’t stop. Dobbins even turned off the vehicle’s lights as he continued at high speeds.
The pursuit made Its way into a residential area in Holderness, and when Dobbins made a U-turn he “Struck and disabled Trooper Perkins’ fully marked State Police cruiser, putting him and his K9 partner at risk of severe injury,” New Hampshire State Police said.
Additional Troopers as well as local law enforcement officers in New Hampshire responded and continued to pursue the Dobbins.
NHSP said, “During the 45 minutes that followed, the suspect continued to attempt to elude law enforcement and drove his vehicle at a Trooper who was outside their cruiser. The suspect also attempted to hide his vehicle in various locations, including a driveway, where police surrounded him; however, in another attempt to escape, the suspect struck a second State Police cruiser multiple times before the suspect’s vehicle became stuck.”
After getting stuck Dobbins was taken into custody and he has been charged with disobeying an officer, reckless driving, driving after revocation or suspension, and multiple felony counts of reckless conduct with a deadly weapon.
NHSP said, “A female passenger was briefly detained and later released without charges.:
Dobbins was treated at the scene for minor injuries. NHSP says that he refused bail and remains held at the Grafton County Department of Corrections.
No one else was injured, NHSP said.
