In Maine, at the United States District Court in Portland, Joseph Gibson, 36, of Lisbon, Maine has pleaded guilty to possessing child sexual abuse material.
Maine State Police in October 2023 identified an IP address at residence of Gibson’s residence that was used to download child sexual abuse material.
When Maine State Police executed a search warrant they seized two devices belonging to Gibson which were found to contain child pornography.
Maine State Police referred the case to Homeland Security Investigations, and when HSI conducted a follow-up review of the devices they found five video files on Gibson’s phone depicting the sexual abuse of young children.
Gibson also admitted to viewing child pornography on the internet when questioned by investigators.
Gibson has a prior conviction for possessing and distributing child pornography.
