UConn Women’s Basketball season came to a heart-rending end Friday night after a meeting with the Iowa Hawkeyes, who grabbed a 71-69 win against the Huskies.
UConn redshirt junior Paige Bueckers and senior Aaliyah Edwards both collected 17 points in Friday night’s loss. Bueckers finished with four rebounds and three assists. She was 7-17 from the field goal and 3-8 from beyond the arc, while Edwards finished eight rebounds and three assists. She was 8-15 from the field goal and 1-2 from the free throw line.
Freeman KK Arnold finished with 14 points, two rebounds and seven assists.
In the paint the Huskies had 32 points, they had 11 fast break points, 19 points off turnovers.
UConn produced seven points from their bench.
The Huskies will finish their season 33-6 overall, and
11-3 at home.
