Compared to All-Star Weekends of the past. The G-League All-Star game took on a new format similar to the rising stars challenge with a 4 team tournament style draft format. Each game was played to 30 points.
Each of the four teams had a content creator as general manager who drafted a team and had custom jerseys to go with it. The four teams and GMs were team Giraffe Stars managed by Kris London, team BallisLife with Austin Mills, team EYL co managed by Rashad Bilal and Troy Millings, and finally team Strictly with Nolan Newberg and Joe Doerrer.
Game one saw team BallisLife pick up a 32-25 over team Giraffe Stars. Emoni Bates scored 10 points, while Skal Labissiere finished with eight points for BallisLife, booking them a ticket to the final game. For the Giraffe Stars Collin Gillespie ended the night with nine points and Matas Buzelis.
In game two Alondes Williams led the way for team EYL scoring 14 points grabbing four rebounds and dishing out one assists. EYL advanced to the final round with a 30-27 win. Dominick Barlow and Darius Bazley both ended with seven points for team Strictly.
In the final game between EYL and BallisLife. Team EYL picked up the 30-21 win. Trevelin Queen finished with eight points for team EYL, while Emoni Bates led the way for team BallisLife scoring seven points. Queen earned MVP honors for his efforts in the final game.
G-League action returns Thursday with a seven game slate.
