Winter Parking Ban Declared In Worcester

A snowstorm is expected to hit the City of Worcester on Tuesday, February 13th. As a result, the city has announced a Declared Winter Parking Ban which will go into effect at midnight on the same day. During this ban, parking will be prohibited on both sides of main arteries, emergency and bus routes, as well as on streets in the downtown area that are critical to the flow of traffic. However, on all other streets, parking will only be allowed on the odd numbered side of the street, unless otherwise posted. To find out if your street is affected, you can search online at worcesterma.gov/streets/winter-weather/winter-parking.

In order to help residents deal with the ban, all municipal parking garages will be free of charge for any vehicle that enters after 7 p.m. on Monday, February 12th. The free parking will continue until the Declared Winter Parking Ban is lifted. However, if you are parking for a special event, the event rates will apply. The city is requesting that residents use one of the municipal garages listed below:

– Federal Plaza Garage – 570 Main St.

– Pearl & Elm Garage – 20 Pearl St.

– Worcester Common Garage – 3 Eaton Place

– Union Station Garage – 225 Franklin St.

– Major Taylor Blvd Garage – 30 Major Taylor Blvd.

Please note that City Hall and all other municipal buildings will be closed on Tuesday, February 13th. Also, trash and recycling collection will be delayed by one day.
