The USA Basketball Women’s Basketball Team Committee announced that Connecticut Sun forward Alyssa Thomas has been named to the the 2024 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament roster. Thomas was one of 12 athletes selected from a pool of 18 players who attended the USA minicamp this past weekend in Brooklyn, NY.

She will join the team to represent the United States in the 2024 FIBA Women’s Qualifying Tournament on Feb. 8-11 in Antwerp, Belgium. The United States, who have already qualified for the 2024 Olympic Summer Games after winning the gold medal at the 2022 World Cup, will participate in the quadrennial qualifying tournament.

The four-nation pool in Antwerp will feature matchups vs. Belgium (Feb. 8, 2:45 p.m. ET, Nigeria Feb. 9, 12:15 p.m. ET) and Senegal (Feb. 11, 1:15 p.m. ET).

Thomas was a member of the USA Women’s 2022 World Cup winning team, along with Connecticut Sun teammate Brionna Jones. During the eight-game gold-medal run, Thomas averaged 9.9 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.4 steals. She was named to the World Cup 2022 All-Second Team and was awarded the Best Defensive Player honor.
