New England Patriots Pull Off Upset Against Buffalo Bills, 29-25

The New England Patriots hosted the Buffalo Bills at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA on Sunday afternoon. The Patriots were looking to avoid the first 1-6 in the Bill Belichick era.

They got off to a hot start as a two-yard touchdown by Ezekiel Elliot made it a 10-0 lead for New England. They took that lead into the second quarter.

Tyler Bass got the Bills on the board with a 36-yard field goal 11 seconds into the second, and Patriots kicker Chad Ryland equaled that with a 24 yard field goal. The Patriots led 13-3 at halftime.

The lone touchdown of the third quarterback came as Josh Allen found running back James Cook from eight yards out to close the gap to 13-10. A second Ryland field goal made it 16-10 after three.

With 7:36 left, Mac Jones threw his first touchdown of the game to Kendrick Bourne to make it a 22-10 game. Buffalo would come roaring back, though, and after a one-yard touchdown, they took their first lead with 1:53 left.

On second and goal, Jones found tight end Mike Geisicki with 12 seconds left to ultimately give the Patriots the 29-25 victory.

The Patriots will take on another AFC East rival in the Miami Dolphins next weekend in South Florida. Kickoff for that game is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.
