The Connecticut Sun will take on the New York Liberty with the winner of the series earning a trip to the WNBA Finals.
Connecticut didn’t fare well in the season matchup as the Sun were 0-4 versus the Liberty with their most recent matchup taking place on Friday September 1.
The Sun are led by Alyssa Thomas who was named to the All-Defensive First Team. Who is in the running for Most Valuable Player.
The Liberty also have a player in the running for Most Valuable Player with Breanna Stewart. Stewart also made All-Defensive First Team while her Liberty teammate Bernijah Laney made All-Defensive Second Team.
Coming into this matchup Connecticut is the only team advancing to the semifinals who played in a game three.
The Las Vegas Aces and Dallas Wings the other two semifinalists got the sweep along with the New York Liberty who swept the Washington Mystics.
Game one of this five game series will take place on Sunday September 24 with tip off scheduled for 1:00PM EST
