Boston Red Sox Roster Moves – 9.23.2023

Right-handed pitcher Kenley Jansen from the COVID-19 Related Injured List, the Boston Red Sox have announced. In addition, they have also optioned right-handed pitcher Zack Weiss to Triple-A Worcester following the team’s game last night against the Chicago White Sox.
Jansen has recorded a 3.63 ERA in 51 appearances for Boston this season. He also ranks sixth in the American League with 29 saves. His 420 career saves rank seventh in MLB history. He signed with the Red Sox in 2022 after spending time with the Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta Braves over the course of his career.
Weiss has appeared in just 12 games for the Red Sox this season, recording a 3.21 ERA. He was claimed off waivers by the Sox in August after making six appearances for the Los Angeles Angels.
