At approximately 4:53 AM, Wednesday, August 23, Connecticut State Police responded to an unoccupied, disabled motor vehicle in the area of the I-84 eastbound Exit 23 off ramp in Waterbury, Connecticut. 

Upon arrival, Troopers located a motor vehicle with bullet holes in the rear of the vehicle. Troopers also observed what they believed to be a scene indicating that someone had sustained an injury.

Upon further investigation, Troopers learned that a 14-year-old  juvenile male had been admitted to an area hospital for a gunshot wound and was in critical condition.

The Connecticut State Police Western District Major Crime Detectives are investigating all of the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Roberts at Troop A, at (203)267-2200. All information will remain confidential.
