The Worcester Red Sox hosted the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Railriders in the sixth and final game of the series at Polar Park in Worcester, MA. The WooSox defeated the Railriders in a high-scoring affair as they took the game 14-12.

Estevan Floral scored the first run of the game for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on a sacrifice fly from Andres Chaparro. Two more runs would score as Oswald Peraza and Everson Periera came home on a Carlos Narvaez double that bounced off the center field wall.

Worcester got on the board in the bottom of the first when Ceddane Rafaela scored on a sac fly from Enmanuel Valdez. Wilmer Difo expanded the Railriders lead with a solo shot left center field in the second, making it a 4-1 game.

Jamie Westbrook would hit the second home run from Scranton in the third inning, a two-run homer to left field, extending the Railriders’ lead to 6-1.

Scranton’s third home run of the day came in the top of the sixth as Austin Wells hit a three-run home run just over the right field wall, making the lead 9-1. Wells would hit a grand slam in the top of the eighth to extend the lead to 13-1.

The WooSox were unable to get anything going and ultimately dropped the final game of the series, 13-1. This was the second time the WooSox split a series this season – both were against the Railriders.

Worcester will begin a new series against the Rochester Red Wings on Tuesday out in Rochester, NY. First puth is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. ET.
