The Worcester Red Sox took on the Rochester Red Wings for the final games of their six game series.
Rochester struck first as Jake Noll hit a single that scored Jake Alu giving them a 1-0 lead.
Worcester tied it up in the bottom of the second when Ronaldo Hernandez hit into a double play but scored Bobby Dalbec.
The WooSox then took the lead in the bottom of the fifth when Stephen Scott hit a homerun to give the WooSox a 2-1 lead.
In the bottom of the sixth inning Ceddanne Rafaela hit a double which scored Bobby Dalbec giving Worcester a 3-1 lead.
Jake Noll then helped bring Rochester back into the game. In the seventh Noll hit a double which scored Derek Hill and then he hit a solo homer in the ninth inning bringing the game to a 3-3 tie.
Worcester had a chance in the bottom of the ninth to win the game which happened when David Hamilton hit a single which scored Wilyer Abreu who was the winning run.
The Woo Sox took the first game on Sunday with a 4-3 win. The second game didn’t go as well as the first.
Chico Walker who was at Polar Park Saturday before the rain delay said “You can’t take anything for granite in this sport.”
Walker was a Red Sox draft pick and longtime PawSox player.
But Worcester might’ve taken that first win for granted because the WooSox only scored one run in game two.
Nick Sogard hit a homerun in the fifth inning which was the first and only run for Worcester.
Rochester scored a run before and after the Sogard home run.
Matt Adams hit a homerun in the top of second which gave Rochester a 1-0 lead.
After a tied game the tie was broken in the top of the eighth when Drew Millas hit a single that scored Derek Hill.
Rochester went on to win 2-1 and win the series four games to two.
The Woo Sox now head on the road to play the Syracuse Mets in the next six game series.
