Connecticut Sun Grab 85-79 Win Against Seattle Storm

The Connecticut Sun were in Seattle, WA on Tuesday night at the Climate Pledge Arena for their first of three meetings this season with the Seattle Storm. 

The Sun, who had a balanced scoring attack with all five starters in double figures, grabbed the win, beating Seattle 85-79. DeWanna Bonner led the night for the Sun with 20 points in 30 minutes. She had six rebounds and three assists.

With her third assist at the 7:32 mark of the fourth quarter, Bonner notched her 1,000th career assist. Also tonight, Bonner passed Sylvia Fowles for 10th all-time in scoring in WNBA history with 6,417.

Natisha Hiedeman put 17 points on the board in the 35 minutes she played. She had three rebounds and two assists. 

Alyssa Thomas and Brionna Jones both had 13 points on the board. Thomas led the team with 15 rebounds and 12 assists. With her 11th point at the 1:26 mark of the third quarter, Thomas notched a triple-double. This was her fifth career triple-double and her first of the 2023 season.

Tiffany Hayes in the 27 minutes she played, put 12 points on the board. She had five rebounds and four assists. Olivia Nelson-Ododa played ten minutes tonight and had six points on the board with one rebound and one assist.

DiJonai Carrington tonight played 13 minutes and had four points on the board with one rebound.
