The Connecticut Sun would face the Las Vegas Aces in a Championship Rematch of last year.
The Sun coming into tonight have a record of 6-1 coming off of a home win against the Dallas Wings.
The Aces meanwhile were 6-0 going undefeated so far this season.
Connecticut was undefeated in their own way not having lost a game on their home floor until tonight.
A’ja Wilson would score the first basket of the game and the Aces would never find themselves losing in this matchup against top tier teams.
Wilson, last year’s MVP, last year’s Defensive Woman of the Year, and the 3 time All-WNBA forward would score 23 points and grab 10 rebounds tonight.
Aces guard Jackie Young who’s fifth in points per game this season would score 22 points while collecting seven boards and dishing out seven assists.
Kelsey Plum would also provide scoring support with 17 points while also having 6 assists.
For Connecticut Rebecca Allen would lead the Sun in scoring with 22 points in 21 minutes of playing time.
Last year’s Sixth Woman of the Year Brionna Jones would have 15 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.
Alyssa Thomas would also have a double double scoring 14 points and grabbing 11 rebounds which gives Thomas her seventh double double which leads the league in double doubles.
Thomas leads the league in rebounds per game along with being third in assists per game. Thomas tonight would have 7 assists giving her nearly a triple double.
Natisha Hiedeman and Dijonai Carrington would each score 11 points.
The Sun still hold the best record in the Eastern Conference despite the loss.
The Sun fell to 6-2 while the Aces improved to 7-0. Connecticut will get their rematch Thursday against the Aces for the second of three games against them this season.
The game is scheduled for a 7:00 PM tip off.
