Celtics Force Game 7

By DJ Harding –

The Boston Celtics facing elimination would find a way to force a game 7 against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Jayson Tatum would have another rough start going 0-5 in the first quarter and scoring only 1 point in the first half and 3 points through three quarters of play.

He would hit his first field goal with eight minutes left to go in the third quarter.

Tatum would prove why he was fourth in MVP voting this year scoring 16 fourth quarter points which included him scoring eight straight Celtics points to give Boston the win late.

Tatum would end the day with 19 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists.

Jaylen Brown the other half of the star Celtic duo would score 17 points while grabbing 6 rebounds and dishing out 4 assists.

Brown would also not wear a face mask after wearing it for most of the second half of the season after catching a Tatum elbow to the face during late January.

Marcus Smart, the former Defensive Player of the Year, would lead the Celtics in scoring with 22 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists.

The current MVP Joel Embiid would score 26 points and add 10 rebounds to his game 6 performance.

Embiid now holds a record of 3-11 against Boston in his postseason career.

Tyrese Maxey would also score 26 points and tie Embiid for the most points by a player for both teams.

Boston will travel back home for game 7 holding the home court advantage in this series.

Game 7 tips off Sunday with the time as Thursday night May 11 to be determined.
