Boston College Defense Overpowers Offense in 2023 Spring Game

Boston College hosted their annual Spring Game at Alumni Stadium in Boston, MA on Saturday morning. Team Maroon was representing the defense and Team Gold was representing the offense.

The first offensive drive was ended with an interception in the end zone by Malik Jackson. Sophomore quarterback Emmett Morehead had completed all of his passes prior to the interception.

Morehead would bounce back with a touchdown pass to tie the game at 21 between the offense and defense. The defense would record two sacks, including a strip-sack, and led 34-22 with 5:24 left in the first half.

Defense recorded two interceptions in the first half and forced two punts. They led 43-33 at halftime. Quarterback Matthew Rueve struggled in first half, missing on a few passes, but bounced back and threw a touchdown pass late in the first half.


Defense held the offense to a field goal on the first possession of second half and made 4th down stop on second possession. They recorded two more interceptions, one in the end zone in the end, en route to a final score of 69-42.
