WooSox, Mass Pirates, and Bruins Own The Ws Sunday

Sunday afternoon at Polar Park in Worcester, the WooSox hosted the Syracuse Mets for game three of this weekend home opener series. The series coming into this afternoon’s game was split 1-1, but the WooSox defeating Syracuse 8-1, will own this series 2-1. WooSox got their first run of the game with David Hamilton at the bottom of the first. In the bottom of the the fourth; WooSox got their second run of the game with Ryan Fitzgerald to make it a 0-2 game. Syracuse got their first run of the game at the top of the sixth with Khalil Lee to make it a 1-2 game. Bottom of the seventh, Bobby Dalbec scored to make it a 1-3 game. WooSox then grabbed their fourth run from a throwing error by Josh Walker to make it 1-4. Greg Allen hitting his second double of the season, in the bottom of the seventh, helped the WooSox get their fifth and sixth runs with Jorge Alfaro and Narciso Crook. The WooSox in the bottom of the eighth got their seventh and eighth runs with Bobby Dalbec and Daniel Palka.

Panthers 52 @ Pirates 59

Also, in downtown Worcester Sunday afternoon, the Massachusetts Pirates hosted the Bay Area Panthers at the DCU Center. Jimmie Robinson helped lead the Massachusetts Pirates to their 59-52 win against the Panthers with four touchdowns. Robinson had a 15-yard TD, a 50-yard kickoff return, a two and a five yards TD. Robinson now has six touchdowns to start the 2023 season. Darren Carrington II had a two-point conversion and a TD. Thomas Owens had two touchdowns, and Isaac Zico got one touchdown. Josh Gable completed seven of eight field goal attempts Sunday afternoon. In his first game with the Massachusetts Pirates, Anthony Russo completed four touchdown passes. With Sunday afternoons win, the Pirates improve to 2-0 to start the season. 

Boston Bruins 4 @ St Luis Blues 3

At the Enterprise Center in Saint Louis, MO, the Bruins beat the Blues 4-2. DeBrusk, DeBrusk, and Steen each scored against the Blues, who also made three goals. Charlie Coyle made a goal for the Buins in a shootout.
