Boston Red Sox Bounced by Atlanta Braves, 6-1

By Stephen Ur –

The Boston Red Sox played against the Atlanta Braves in the first of back-to-back games against the NL East team. They are also scheduled to play each other on Tuesday.

The Braves got off to the hot start in this game, scoring all six runs in the second and third innings. Eddie Rosario hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the second to make the score 3-0. Matt Olson hit a two-run shot in the bottom of the third to make it a 5-0 game and a Sean Murphy home run made the score 6-0.

Boston was able to get on the board in the top of the eighth when Niko Kavadas was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, allowing Niko Goodrum to score. That was all the Red Sox could come up with, however, as they fell 6-1.

Tanner Houck took the loss, his third of Spring Training. He went 3 IP, giving up six earned runs and two walks while striking out four.

These two teams will meet again tomorrow in the second-to-last Spring Training game for the Red Sox this season
