The UConn Huskies would take on the Vermont Catamounts in the round of 64 of the NCAA Women’s Tournament. UConn comes in a two seed after winning the Big East Tournament while Vermont would punch their ticket as a 15th seed after winning the American East Championship.
UConn would get out in front to start the game up 27-12 after the first quarter.
The Huskies would also outscore the Catamounts 26-8 in the second quarter and have a lead 53-20 after the first half.
UConn would come out the half and keep the lead and secure their spot in the round of 32.
Vermont would see their season end versus UConn finishing the season with the record of 25-7.
The Catamounts leading scorers would be Catherine Gilwee with 14 points along with Emma Utterback and Maria Myklebust each with 13 points.
The Huskies would see a 28 point performance from Aaliyah Edwards along with a 15 point triple double from Dorka Juhasz
UConn will face the seventh seed Baylor Bears on Monday.
